Over the course of eight semesters, students will live and learn in eight or more countries and participate in a transformative educational experience that combines rigorous academics, language and cultural immersion, career development, individualized learning, and countless adventures. Unlike a study-abroad program, LIU Global’s unique four-year Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies program combines full-time immersion into foreign countries and cultures with structured classroom instruction, field study, internships, and community service. The curriculum is designed to give students the freedom to explore their interests and passions, and equip them with the knowledge, empathy, and real-world skills needed to understand the challenges facing humanity as a whole, and empower them to become a socially responsible global leader in a richly diverse and increasingly complex world.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Is a LIU Global degree program accredited?
Yes. LIU is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104.
2. What are the degrees of your faculty?
Many professors are local and international scholars, or Americans living abroad who have a broad experience in experiential education. Most LIU Global faculty have their Ph.D. or other terminal degree and are specialists in their particular field of study. The professors also serve as academic advisors at each center as well.
3. At which center can I begin my studies?
First-year students begin their studies in our Foundation Year Program at the Costa Rica Center in Heredia.
Transfer students have more than 24 college credits may possibly begin their studies at the LIU Global Centers in Costa Rica, Europe, or Pacific. Prospective students are encouraged to speak with an admissions counselor and LIU Global staff to discuss their specific options.
4. Can I visit in person to hear more about options in LIU Global?
You may schedule an appointment with our Admissions Office. Your visit will consist of a conversation with Admissions and LIU Global staff. While most of our students and faculty members are abroad, it will be possible to meet with students either in person or via zoom. Please note: Visiting the campus is not required for admission to LIU Global.
5. How many students enroll in LIU Global each year?
Approximately 30 (or more) new freshman students begin the LIU Global program each fall. During the fall and spring semesters, we accept transfer students and visiting students who would like to study abroad either from LIU or from other Colleges and Universities.
6. What is the LIU Global school year?
LIU Global follows the same calendar school year as any other college/university, with 15 week semesters. The fall semester starts at the end of August/beginning of September and ends at the beginning of December. The spring semester begins mid January and ends at the beginning of May. Students will have a winter and summer break.
